FAQ
What is a Toxin Brow Lift?
A Toxin brow lift is a procedure that treats frown lines between your brows. It also elevates the height of your eyebrows with botulinum toxin injections.
Additional injections can be placed at the ends of the eyebrows to help relax those muscles as well. This allows the forehead muscles to now pull up that area, too. The amount of lift you get will vary, depending on your age and tone of the muscles that are left active to pull up the now-relaxed muscles.
For stubborn frown lines between the eyebrows, this procedure can help smooth out deep wrinkles without surgery. These types of wrinkles are also called glabellar frown lines.
Toxin is a non-surgical procedure. It’s different from a traditional brow lift, which is a type of cosmetic surgery that involves incisions and removal of your skin.
How is it done?
By carefully placing botulinum toxin in the muscles that depress the brow (pull it down), you can cause the brow to rest and relax in a lifted position, working by relaxing underlying muscles to smooth your skin on the outside and relaxing the muscles between the brows. This allows the forehead muscles to pull up the now-relaxed muscles between the brows, thereby elevating the brows and opening up the eyes.
Am I a suitable candidate?
Both men and women with moderate to severe frown lines may benefit from a Toxin Brow Lift.
This type of brow lift is best for significantly sagging skin that can be corrected with this type of muscle lifting. Some candidates may also consider radiofrequency at the same time for maximum results around the eye area.
Before you undergo this procedure, you’ll first need to see one of our Cosmetic Injectors for a consultation, to assess your eligibility for this treatment.
You may not be a good candidate for Brow Lift if you have a low set brow bone.
What can I expect?
The procedure for a brow lift via Toxin is relatively straightforward. You’ll be in and out of our clinic in a short space of time. The procedure using needles is relatively quick. But before we get started, you’ll need to take some preparatory steps first. We advise that you discontinue blood-thinning medications, as well as those that make you bleed easily, such as aspirin.
How long does it last?
On average and depending on the client including factors such as age, lifestyle, and muscle strength it can last around 2-3 months, this being slightly less than the forehead as only small quantities can be injected into this area.
Is it painful?
Toxin injections are one of the least painful nonsurgical treatments our team carries out, and the whole procedure takes around 10-15 minutes. Anaesthetic can be applied if a client has a low pain threshold but isn’t really necessary.
How much is this treatment?
Bolton: – £300
London: – from £350
When will I see results?
Results start to show within the first week of treatment and full effects are noticeable after 14 days. If any reviews are necessary within the first 2 weeks after your initial appointment, this will be inclusive of price, anything after this time frame is chargeable.
What are the side effects?
As with any procedure, there can be side effects but the most commonly reported from Anti-Ageing Injections are headaches and migraines. These generally subside once the full effects of the treatment have taken place. Clients can sometimes feel pain at the injection site or have slight swelling and bruising. Again all common side effects but will subside within a short time after the procedure. Brow drooping is always a possibility when it comes to Toxin but with our clinic having a vast and knowledgeable understanding of facial anatomy and a face-to-face consultation with Louise and our Nurses prior to treatment, there really is nothing to be concerned about.
What to avoid after treatment?
To get maximum results from your treatment please adhere to the following advice. For the next 24 hours refrain from any alcohol, strenuous exercise, make-up application, and UVA tanning beds. Please remember, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, strenuous exercise, and sun exposure can affect and help to reduce the lifespan of your treatment.
What will happen if I don't keep up or continue with my Toxin Treatment?
If you did decide to stall your treatment for any reason, any areas that have been treated with Toxin will gradually return to the way they were before any treatment began. The ageing process will also continue.
