Far less invasive than a Blepharoplasty, using Morpheus8 on the eyes can come to the same effect as it can on the rest of the face and body. The process is no different. Microneedling and RadioFrequency work together to stimulate collagen production and reduce skin laxity and improve firmness in the skin. Once the pins are pushed into the skin, the RadioFrequency heat is released into that layer, which then stimulates collagen production.
Case Study
Notice how the under eye area has been repositioned closer to the lash line for a brightened and rejuvenated effect with smoother undereyes. No filler or chemical toxin has been used here, purely radiofrequency and microneedling in the form of Morpheus 8 Prime Tip.
Brows are repositioned to create a brow lift, which helps to open the eyes up for a youthful, wide-awake look. The skin on the eyelids was also treated which has in turn tightened and lifted the skin.
FAQs
What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus 8 is the first and only FDA-approved subdermal adipose remodeling device (SARD) device on the market which achieves superior skin tightening and sculpting whilst remodeling the fat under the skin.
The device itself has been revolutionary because it is the first and only full-body fractional technology, which gives subdermal adipose fat remodeling.
How does Morpheus8 work?
Morpheus 8 is the first and only fractional device with programmable penetration depth and energy delivery.
The device utilises a grid of 24 coated pins that enter the skin at specific depths (4mm, 2mm, or 1mm). The tips of the needles heat up with RadioFrequency energy to cause collagen denaturation, contraction, and stimulation in the deepest layers of the dermis. Resulting in superior skin tightening, firming, and redefinition of the facial contours over several months of the treatment.
Given its stimulating effect on collagen production, the treatment excels at contouring the face and body, addressing skin laxity, diminishing skin textural irregularities such as scarring and stretch marks, whilst promoting an immaculate skin tone and texture.
What is the benefit of Microneedling combined with RF Fractionated Energy?
Fractionated RadioFrequency administered at different depths of the face and body tissue, is a clinically proven method for many concerns, whether that is to reduce lines and wrinkles, reduce fat or tighten skin laxity. The beauty of this treatment is that all of these concerns plus many more can be treated at once.
Another huge plus with Morpheus 8 and this type of technology, is that there is almost no patient downtime after the procedure.
How soon will I see results from Morpheus8?
Results from Morpheus 8 will begin as soon as a few days after your first treatment, with each day you can expect to see subtle improvements in the quality and density of your skin. As the device targets the deep subcutaneous layer of tissue to produce new collagen and elastin, further and more impressive results will start to show. It takes approximately 28 days to form new collagen, therefore continual improvements can be seen up to 6 months post-treatment. Improvements will accelerate after each additional treatment.
The main aim of the treatment is to tighten and lift the skin to improve the thickness and quality of the supporting layers of the skin. The results from the treatment are dependant on your own body’s response to the treatment itself so results can vary from person to person.
Is Morpheus8 better than Microneedling?
The added heat (radiofrequency) promotes the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid at a much greater level than traditional micro-needling. The Morpheus 8 treatment allows for more dramatic results at a much faster rate and reduces the need for any follow-up sessions.
How many sessions will I need?
For optimal results we recommend, 1-3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. The number of sessions required will vary depending on each patient’s concerns and their desired results.
Multiple sessions provide maximum results. Our knowledgeable practitioners will work with you in your initial consultation to create your ideal plan based on your desired skin goals.
Morpheus 8 works for many different types of clients. For younger patients in their 20s and 30s who wish to keep their skin fresh by preserving skin strength and quality, or even those who have unwanted fat in a specific area, and have tried diet and exercise. For older clients or those who have ageing concerns such as sagging and crepey skin, we recommend a course of 3 sessions to see significant improvements in skin quality, laxity, and texture.
Will I need maintenance?
Morpheus 8 is the only device on the market at present to create improvement in skin laxity and sub-dermal remodelling. However, the effects of ageing concerns continue. We lose 1% of our collagen yearly as a minimum; these effects are accelerated when we do not invest in medical-grade skincare, broad-spectrum SPF or preventative treatments. Morpheus 8 is a perfect choice for patients to reset the clock. One or two yearly maintenance treatments will be something most patients choose to continue with as part of their ultimate skin health programme.
Does it hurt?
The skin is numbed with topical anaesthetic 45 minutes – 1-hour pre-treatment. During the procedure, you may feel some mild-moderate heat or stinging. This is usually very well tolerated.
Are there any risks or side effects?
After treatment, there is local skin redness (erythema), swelling (edema), and the sensation of heat that can last anywhere from 1-7 days. It is normal to have tiny pinpoint scabs appear that can be masked 24 hours after treatment with makeup. Visible results can be achieved 4-14 days post-treatment.
Your normal skin care routine can be resumed when the skin is no longer red or feeling bumpy.
Will I bruise?
In some cases, patients may experience bruising of the skin, especially in delicate areas such as around the eyes and mouth which will quickly subside as the skin heals.
How can I prepare for my Morpheus8 treatment?
The best results from Morpheus 8 can be seen when the skin is well-prepared for the treatment. During your consultation, our experienced practitioners will assess the skin and give you advice about how to best optimise your skin health. This may involve using specific medical-grade skincare, incorporating our specific nutritional supplements, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding sun exposure before and after treatment.
All products and supplement programmes can be purchased in-clinic or from our online boutique.
It is important to ensure the skin has not been excessively damaged or inflamed in the time leading up to the treatment, this includes discontinuing anything that is perceived as ‘active’ skincare. We cannot offer the treatment to anyone who is currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
What kind of post-procedure care should I follow?
When you have Morpheus 8, this will not cause much disruption in terms of your day-to-day activities. There are a few steps you can take to ensure your skin recovers as well as possible and treatment results are maximised. Specific aftercare advice will be provided to you once the treatment is finished.
Nevertheless, it is recommended that you do not touch or apply anything to the treated area for 12 hours once your treatment has been completed. This is to prevent infection. After this time patients should avoid direct sun exposure and sunbeds.
Patients should expect possible bruising in some cases, a few days after the treatment, and slight redness for up to 1 week, depending on treatment parameters. To accelerate healing you should nourish the skin with the recommended products from your practitioner. We advise clients to purchase our Post Procedure Fast Skin Repair to help accelerate this process, apply topical arnica and wear SPF50 daily following treatment.
Make-up can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment, we advise avoiding any makeup until irregularities disappear, this is usually a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.
Will I need filler after Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 treats skin laxity and loss of firmness and can help to achieve a tight facial contour. Whether you need filler after Morpheus8 treatment is entirely up to the results of your treatment, though it is possible.
What is the cost of Morpheus8?
Your skin will need assessment to determine your suitability for Morpheus 8 and how many treatments you will need. 90% of patients that visit us require 1-3 treatments, this is priced at £675 per individual session.
A recommended course of 3 is priced at £1,800. (Saving £225)
